Note: You cannot apply directly to the Immigrant Investor Program. You must first submit an expression of interest through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s (IRCC) online system, and then you will be invited to apply if you meet the criteria. 


Overseas representatives cannot submit an expression of interest on your behalf. You must do this yourself.  


The Criteria for Applying 


If you meet the eligibility requirements above, you may submit an expression of interest through IRCC’s online system. You will be asked to provide information about yourself, including your: 


  • age; 


  • level of education; 


  • language ability; 


  • work experience; and 


  • whether you have relatives in Canada. 


You will also be asked about your: 


  • investment funds; and 


  • net worth.  


You must score a minimum of 67 points out of a possible 100 on IRCC’s point assessment grid to be eligible to apply for the Immigrant Investor Program. The grid assesses factors such as age, education, work experience, and language ability. The threshold is subject to change without prior notice so make sure you check IRCC’s website regularly for updates before applying.  


Things To Keep In Mind  

  • You must indicate on your expression of interest that you are applying under the Immigrant Investor Program stream. If you do not do this, your expression of interest will not be assessed against this program’s criteria and it will not be included in the pool. 
  • You are responsible for ensuring that your expression of interest includes accurate and up-to-date information about yourself and your family members at all times – from the time you first create your online profile until after you receive an invitation to apply for permanent residence (if you are invited). If any information changes after you submit your profile (for example, if you have a child), update your profile as soon as possible so that we have current information about your family when we assess your profile against the published criteria of the Immigrant Investor Program stream or another stream or program.”. 
  • Please note that being invited to apply does not guarantee that you will eventually receive Canadian permanent residence.”’.
